After a smog pread through the world food crops started disappearing at an alarming high rate. A young chef decided to leave America a few years prior and is now stranded in Europe since the borders are closed and nobody get's back in. Since nobody needs a chef anymore she finally gets a job offer at a dacadent mountaintop colony which seems like a dream to her. For the first time in a while she finally sees the clear sky again and starts cooking with rare ingredints she hasn't seen in years. But soon she has to realize that her new boss and his colony are not nearly as good as they might seem.
Reading this book was hard. Not so much because of the story but more because of the language. It was written in short and confusing sentences, often I didn't even understand what's going on and the whole book was just really tough to read. I was hoping that it will get better and that I'll eventually end up liking it but I disliked the whole book a lot. For me it didn't have a proper story, the characters acted absolutely weird and the whole setting was just confusing. I have to say that I can't even write a proper review of the book since I don't have anything to say about it except that I don't like it a bit.
