What will happen to humanity if nature starts to strike back? California is burning during a heatwave whilest Florida is getting flooded. Cooper starts so appealed to the conscience of his parents that they have to save the planet while his sister seems to only care about her image on social media. Frequently she decided to boy herself a python to wear around her neck like jewellry to gain more followers. Soon the family disputes start to add up but now climate change starts to not only destroy the nature but also claims its first human victims amongst the family.

This was the first book I read by T.C. Boyle and I was pretty curious about how it'll turn out since I read a lot about climate change. Storywise I liked it, Boyle really managed to give his characters a strong personality and his characters managed to make me pretty angry and upset during some parts of the story. I couldn't even imagine that the snake would have such a brutal and shocking storyline and I was thinking a lot about that part even after finishing the book. Over all it was a solid read. He didn't really go deep into the climate change topic but since it's still a novel and not a technical book about climate change that's just some minor criticism. I did like the book but not enough that I would say I have to read other books by T.C. Boyle.
